Summary
Public spectacles, private breakdowns, and terrible choices. How can a beloved Hollywood star feel so unloved?
Twenty-four year old Adra Willows grew up in the spotlight, but navigating the shark infested waters of show business doesn’t get easier with age. Constantly comparing herself to others, Adra has experienced mild success but nothing like the achievement of one of her best friends.
With her manager giving her questionable advice and her relationship with a leading comedic actor on the rocks, Adra finds herself at the crossroads of Virtue and Vice. She can either continue along the path of taking roles that showcase her body instead of her acting skills or she can forge ahead of her competition, ignore the wishes of her manager, and make her own decisions.
The red carpet of life is lined with virtue and vice, but which side will the actress choose to walk along?

When were you first bitten by the writing bug?
I started writing in fifth grade, but it was only for school. I started writing in a journal when I was thirteen. I began writing full stories when I was eighteen and never stopped. It wasn't until I was twenty-eight or so that I felt like I had to write every day.
Is the book mostly fantasy or do you think these situations could actually happen?
I think the book is grounded in reality. While the circumstances within the pages are fiction, I don’t think it’s a stretch to think celebrities go through the same trials as we do, only more visibly and with more immense pressure.
What books have most influenced your life?
I read Shakespeare when I was in sixth grade, and there’s no telling if I’d be the same person without discovering Romeo and Juliet. The Catcher in the Rye was amazingly influential. I can't read it the same way I did when I was twelve or thirteen, but it was one of the first times I felt like someone else understood the world like I did. More recently, The Night Circus and The Book Thief have been some of the best reading experiences I've ever had.
What book are you reading now?
I'm reading multiple books right now. A Map of the World, The Wind in the Willows, Paper Towns, What I Know Now: Letters to My Younger Self, and Pride and Prejudice. I'm a bit all over the place, but it’s difficult not to want to consume all the books all at once.
Do you see writing as a career?
I absolutely do. I have multiple careers going at once, but all of them involve writing and editing different types of documents and genres.
Do you have anything specific that you want to say to your readers?
In a world filled with great books and great authors, thanks for taking the time to read a book by me. I appreciate it.
Which comes first? The character’s story or the idea of the novel?
It really depends. Sometimes characters tell me the story and other times, the idea behind the story appears long before the characters. I think all of my novels have come about in different ways.
What advice do you have for someone who would like to become a published writer?
Keep writing. Write, write, and write some more. Don’t give up. Also, don't hang your hat on one type of publishing. Be open to all avenues.
What are your current projects?
Right now I’m focusing on editing. I’m editing my own stuff and also other authors for various publications. As for upcoming novels, I’m (slowly) writing a sequel to My Only where the brothers are grown up and truly discovering what it means to be adults.
Thanks for letting me spend some time on your blog!
